Terms of service
These terms govern the use of the Printypus web service, formerly Extrudo (the “service”). By using the service you agree to them. The Czech version prevails.
1. Operator
The service is operated by Michael Bala, ID No. (IČO) 30127106, registered office Kpt. Stránského 962/33, 198 00 Praha 9 – Černý Most, Czech Republic, a sole trader registered in the Trade Register; not a VAT payer. Contact: contact@printypus.com.
2. What the service does
The service turns 3D models (STL, 3MF) into files for 3D printers (G-code, 3MF): it checks and, where needed, repairs, scales or splits the model and slices it with OrcaSlicer for the chosen printer and material. It also includes a catalog of openly licensed models.
The service is in a trial phase. Jobs are prepared within a free limit; paid credits are in preparation (section 9). There is no legal claim to the service’s availability or to specific features; the operator may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
3. Account
Creating files for your printer requires an account; you can try the preview and the estimate without one (the model stays in your browser). You create an account with an e-mail and password, a code sent to your e-mail, or a Google account. You are responsible for access to your e-mail.
You can delete individual jobs or your whole account at any time yourself (on the job, or on the Account page), or ask us at contact@printypus.com. Deleting also removes uploaded files and results and revokes shared links. What stays after deletion (e.g. accounting records of payments) is described in section 4 of the Privacy policy.
4. Uploaded models and rights
Only upload models you created yourself or are allowed to print: under the model’s license that allows printing for your own use (e.g. CC, a platform’s standard license) or with the author’s permission. Only sell prints if the license or the author allows it. By ticking the terms checkbox before every upload you declare that the uploaded model meets this condition.
Rights to uploaded files stay with you (or their author). You grant the operator a non-exclusive, free permission to store, process and modify the files as needed to provide the service and, if you share a job by link (section 8), to show the model preview to visitors of the link and let them prepare their own job from it. Otherwise we do not make your files available to other users.
Do not upload content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, trademarks, designs) or whose manufacture or possession is illegal, in particular functional weapons and their essential parts.
5. Content removal and suspension
The operator may remove content, revoke a shared link or restrict or close an account if the content or conduct violates these terms or the law, in particular following a notice under section 6. We inform you of such a decision by e-mail with a statement of reasons (unless the law prohibits it) and you can object at the same address.
We do not check uploaded content on our own initiative and use no automated tools for moderation; notices, objections and account restrictions are decided by the operator personally. Suspected criminal offences threatening life or safety are reported to the police.
6. Reporting illegal content
You can report content you believe infringes rights or the law (including catalog models and shared links) as described on the “Report content” page. We assess notices without undue delay and inform you of the outcome.
7. Catalog
Catalog models come from their authors and are published under the license shown with each model, with the author’s name and a link to the original. Follow the license terms when redistributing.
8. Shared link (in preparation)
Sharing is not launched yet; this section applies from the day it launches. You will be able to share a finished job by a link valid for 7, 30 or 90 days. Anyone with the link sees on its page the model preview, the title you entered, the model’s author and license and a summary of the preparation settings. Your e-mail and other account data are not shown and the page is not indexed by search engines. The model file is not offered for download: a signed-in visitor can prepare their own job for their printer from the link, which creates a copy of the file in their account.
You may only share a model you created yourself or one under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA; for someone else’s model, credit the author and the source. Models under a platform’s standard license, a no-derivatives (ND) or non-commercial (NC) license, photos and spare parts cannot be shared. By sharing your own model you allow visitors of the link to prepare and print it for their own use.
You can revoke a link at any time. It also ends when it expires and when you delete the job or your account yourself; the automatic deletion of old jobs does not revoke it. Copies visitors have already prepared are their own jobs and are deleted under their settings.
9. Credits and payments
Preparing jobs is paid for with credits according to the Pricing page. During the trial phase no credits are charged yet and the form only shows what a job would cost. We announce in advance on the Pricing page when charging starts.
Beta credits: every account receives a free monthly allowance. Beta credits have no cash value, cannot be bought, transferred to another account or exchanged for money, and unused credits expire 30 days after they are added. Credits for a job that fails are returned. We may change the allowance and job prices; changes are announced in advance on the Pricing page and do not affect jobs already created.
Purchased credits (in preparation; apply from the day payments launch): you will be able to pay by bank transfer with a QR code to the operator’s business account at Fio banka, in Czech crowns or in euros (SEPA payment QR code), and later also through the Comgate payment gateway. The currency is preselected by the site language (Czech – crowns, otherwise euros) and you can change it in your account and when buying. Euro prices are fixed, not converted at an exchange rate. The operator is not a VAT payer; prices are final.
The contract for purchased credits is concluded when the payment is credited; we issue an electronic receipt. Pay an order within 7 days with the variable symbol shown, otherwise we cancel it. A payment that cannot be matched to an order (different amount or currency, missing or wrong symbol, cancelled order) is matched after agreeing with you or returned to the account it came from. Purchased credits are valid for 24 months from being credited and cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for money, except on withdrawal.
Withdrawal: as a consumer you may withdraw from a credit purchase without giving a reason within 14 days of the payment being credited, by e-mail to contact@printypus.com. We refund the price of the unused credits from that payment within 14 days of the withdrawal, the same way you paid. If, when buying, you expressly agreed that performance starts before the period ends and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal, the right lapses for credits you have already used.
Complaints: if a job fails, its credits are returned automatically. Report other defects of the service by e-mail to contact@printypus.com; we handle complaints without undue delay, within 30 days at the latest.
10. Results and liability
Output files are generated automatically. Check them before printing (preview, dimensions, temperatures, printer settings). Time and material estimates are approximate; the fit of joints and pins in split models may vary with printer and material.
The free part of the service is provided “as is”. The operator is not liable for failed prints, used material or damage caused by using the output files, except for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence and for harm to health; this does not affect rights from defective performance or other rights that cannot be limited by contract for consumers.
Keep your own copies of files and results; the service is not a backup and storage is not guaranteed.
11. Personal data and cookies
Processing of personal data, cookies and visitor statistics are described in the Privacy policy. The service only uses essential cookies (sign-in and language choice) and cookies that remember your form settings; it uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
12. Changes and final provisions
We may change these terms; we announce material changes in advance on the website or by e-mail. If you disagree, you can close your account.
These terms are governed by Czech law. Consumers may also use out-of-court dispute resolution at the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (www.coi.cz), which is also the supervisory authority; trade licensing matters fall under the competent Trade Licensing Office.
